Paige is inspired by the complementation of colours in nature that attract both humans and pollinators to touch and smell the earth. Using acrylic paint, she shows the energy of life and plays with the idea of generating emotions through colour use.
Coupling her art with her background in Environmental Sciences, she challenges the idea that nature and people are separate and suggests that humans can foster a giving relationship with the natural world. She aims to reconnect people to their environment, as without a deep appreciation and connection with nature we cannot start to protect her.
Living in Skwxwú7mesh / Squamish, she is currently working on a series of paintings to study temperate rainforest ecosystems, the incredible volume of moss, and both traditional and colonial uses of land.
